energy : laguna beach family photographer

I had such a fun time with the “H” family this past weekend.  The session got off to a slow start because good stretch of Laguna Beach is closed due to flooding from the crazy rain we had a few weeks back.   A lot of the stairways down to the beach were blocked off so we were limited to where we could shoot.  We  didn’t have time to get in the car and look for another spot so we chose a beach that was filled with sunbathers & photographers.  Yes, sunbathers in the middle of January!   It was a beautiful warm, sunny, & clear day.  Not a cloud in sight.

The boys, Tim & Thomas, were full of energy and I think they gave me a dose of what I will encounter down the road with my two boys.   They are such polite boys but they like to goof off and be silly too, which is always fun and entertaining.  “H” family, enjoy your sneak peek!

Rarely do I get to photograph older kids.  This was a nice change as I don’t get many clients with kids over the age of 5.  It seems like this is pretty common and I wish it weren’t this way.

So, if you are reading this and you have kids in the ‘tween’ years (between toddlers and teenagers) …have you had their pictures taken lately (individually or as a family)?   I hope you didn’t answer ‘no’!    PS:  Annual school pictures don’t count!
